These creepy-cute images from a kid's beauty pageant can make you go from ohhh to yuk in a matter of seconds. They look like mini-adults, precociously "sexualized", fit to a tee to a pervert's wet dream. Little prosti-tot Barbies. They do look happy to be there but we all know that their overweight stage moms are the ones behind it all. Haven't parents learned anything after Jon Bennet? These days, even in Brazil you can hear about kid's pageants, specially in the South, as I saw recently on a variety TV show. The kids were always crushed when they were not picked, though most weren't even sure why they had to win. When you're 5 the concept of a beauty pageant can be a bit blurry. What most little girls wanted was just to get a sash because that's what made their mom's happy.

Yikes. Scary.
So CREEPY! It's awful. I like your blog, though.
wow the 2nd n 3rd ones are especiallu creepy!
i think this is sick and spoils childrens childhoods. Also parents who put their children into these pageants generally couldn't win one themselves or they feel insecure about themeselves in some way! i love your blog and it's obvious that i feel strongly about this!!
THATS SO REATRDED LOOK AT THEM THERE IN 2ND OR 3RD GRADE AND THEY LOOK SO FAKE YOU SHOULD BRE ASHAME OF YOUR DAUGHTERS
do you know that in USA you can enter a pageant just from when you are born. Arh look at them! they are like small barbies. (b)
=/ I think they are cute. I feel sorry for the ones who don't want to dress up and do it, but, when I was little, I always played dress up and would have loved to be in one, even if I didn't win. I don't think people think about the kids feelings. The parents who force it, nore the people who knock it. Most little girls would watch a pageant and say "WOW!" and beg thier parents to be in one. Girls like make up and dresses, unless they are tom boys, then, I'm sure they wouldn't. But most girls would. I just think it should be up to the child, and if the parent thinks they can handle it, they should be able to make up thier own minds about being in pageants. I do agree tehy go over-board with the details though. Spray tans are a bit much, and shows that a lot of them are sheltered. When I was little I was always tan. From PLAYING OUTSIDE! LOL! I think, they should get to have the best of both worlds. Dress up, and outdoors! Let them have thier cake and eat it to. They are kids, and they will only be kids once. Sorry for the rant hahaha. :)
