Skittles Car

This past Saturday I went to get a much needed haircut at a place not too far from where I live here in Florida. As I pull up in the parking lot I notice this funky car parked right next to me and couldn't resist taking some pictures to post here at the blog. At first I thought it looked like M&Ms candy drawn all over the hood but at a closer look I realized they were Skittles! Gee, one must really love Skittles to have it plastered all over their car and it clearly wasn't a cheap looking paint job. Hence that I would never drive in such a ghetto-fabulous-purple vehicle like this, I must say that it looked kind of cool and definitely unique.

Victoire de Castellane Is My Soul Mate

I came across this great short video on Dior Fine Jewelry's designer Victoire de Castellane on Style.com and had to post it here too. As I watched it I realized why I liked her designs for Dior so much - we are soul mates! The fabulous Victoire loves the same things that I do, like Japanese toys, miniatures in general and fake food props, prominently on display at her Paris office. Her collection of Disney snow globes is an homage to Jeff Koons, whom I am also a big fan, and such details are clearly apparent on her gorgeous creations. She admits that she likes everything "fake" and gets inspired by colorful and unusual everyday-things like bolts of neon plastic string, kept in overflowing baskets in her office.
She admits that "I would love to be Jessica Rabbit, but I'm more maybe the stepmother of "White Snow", clearly showing her sense of humor and "I'm a child-at-heart" sprit de vie.

Eugene and Louise Bakery is the sweetest team-up ever between three Belgian friends: Glenn D’Hondt & Sylvia Meert (aka Eugene and Louise) and Tinne Mermans.
Chocolate dreams, sugar-bomb tastings and the nostalgic love for some real home cooking brought them together. Their new bakery just opened it's door in Antwerp, Belgium this week.

Junk Food Marketing

A selection of tempting artery-clogging junk food options available on my wanderings through South Florida. The colorful neons and cheery flags seem to hypnotise Americans towards the compulsive consumption of food-shaped crap, hence the turd-on-a-stick...oops...corn dog atop one of these trailers. My favorite sign is the "Fried Twinkies" as if you couldn't make junk food even more damaging to your health - a Twinkie - by dipping in boiling lard. Yuk!

They will even give you the sh*t out for free - SPAM! - like drug dealers around a school yard recruiting new addicts for future costumers. Can it get any grosser?
