Lindsay Lohan @ New York Magazine

I just got my New York magazine in the mail today and I was eager to see Lindsay Lohan's pictorial that I had heard so much about in the media. In it, Lindsay poses for photographer Bert Stern recreating the very famous last photo sitting of screen legend Marilyn Monroe. I had just posted here a couple of weeks ago about the photo exhibition being held in Sao Paulo with the original Bert Stern photo shoot. I am not too sure what to think of the images, as I don't think Lindsay looks that great in the shoot. She looks a bit haggard and tired, specially in the black & white close-up, flat boobed and all. Actually she does have great natural breasts I might add. Another odd thing is that Marilyn's original shoot preceded her death for a few weeks and with Lindsay just coming out of rehab it does not seem like a good omen. The photos in the magazine looked way more tasteful than when viewing them online but Is she that desperate for attention?

Marilyn Monroe By Bert Stern @ Galeria Estação - São Paulo

For three days in 1962 photographer Bert Stern shot one of cinema's biggest and most enigmatic icons - Marilyn Monroe - in a Los Angeles hotel suite. Unknow to both at the time this was going to be Marilyn's last photo sitting and perhaps one of her most revealing, where she shed her clothing to reveal more than mere flesh. Even after more than 45 years after her death she is still revered as Hollywood's larger-than-life screen goddess, who was unafraid to expose her vulnerability to Stern's camera, surgical scar and all.
Now at São Paulo's Galeria Estação you can view this complete sitting in the show titled "Marilyn Monroe - O Mito (The Myth)". The exhibit goes from January 26th to March 16th and if you happen to be visiting Brazil's largest city you shouldn't miss it.

1953 Playboy Premier Issue Reprint

It's the one that started it all: the December 1953 issue of Playboy featuring Marilyn Monroe as the Centerfold. All of the original copies from that first production run have long since ended up in the hands of Playboy fans, subscribers and collectors, but now you can own the next best thing: an exact reproduction of that landmark publication and coveted piece of pop culture history. These reprinted issues present all of the original articles, advertisements and photographs precisely as they appeared back in '53, including the notorious Marilyn Monroe red background centerfold and pictorial by photographer Tom Kelley. The images were taken when Marilyn was a young model and aspiring actress and later published when she was already an established Hollywood star.
Only 20,000 single copies of this reproduction will be made available to the public, at a cost of US$25.00 each.
