Florida's Pet & Eat

Am I the only one that finds this quite "amusing" (read: fucked up) that KFC actually sponsors "Poutry Tents" - a kind of petting zoo for farm birds like chickens, ducks and turkeys? Isn't KFC on Peta's "most wanted list" for cruelty to animals? I took these shots at a fair-type event a few weeks ago btw.

Then you walk a few feet away and come across a stall selling - what else - but giant turkey drumsticks!?

Oh, how cute! Racing pigs!! I love those cuddly chubby racing piglets!!

Oh, wait a minute! You can eat them too!

Jenna Jameson For PETA

Geez, it seems like everyone and their mother is in a PETA campaign these days. The new PETA pin-up girl is porn star Jenna Jameson in a "Pleather, Not Leather" poster campaign against the use of animal hides for clothing and accessories. What confuses me is that petroleum products are far worse for the environment than organic leather, though I am against any & all cruelty towards animals. It would be more effective in my opinion to campaign against any leather-looking products all together as vinyl, plastic, pleather, etc will all be here longer than most of us and probably poison water sources and do more harm than good to animals (and people). Jenna Jameson's silicon boobs alone will outlive all of us!

Holly Madison for PETA

You might see Playboy model Holly Madison, star of The Girls Next Door, wearing bunny ears, but one thing you’ll never see her in is bunny fur—or any animal’s fur, for that matter. Hugh Hefner’s number one honey bunny—who shares both Hef and his home, the Playboy Mansion, with fellow Girls Next Door stars Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson in the popular E! channel reality show—is so passionate about saving animals killed for their fur that she posed naked for not one, but two new PETA anti-fur ads!

Sex And The City - The Movie - New Promo Image

Another Carrie Bradshaw-style fashion look, by the hands of the ever so talented Patricia Fields. This image is part of the print advertising for the upcoming SATC movie and Sarah Jessica Parker looks fab in a wacky-bag-lady-is-gonna-pounce-at-you-from-behind-the pillar-look. I know for a fact that she's wearing a Burberry US$9,000.00 fur coat on the picture and I wish they had been a little more PETA conscious when choosing wardrobe for the shoot. Sorry, I think fur is an outdated status symbol and very un-politically correct, specially with all the information available on how they pretty much skin those poor animals alive. Pooh-pooh for fur!

Eva Mendes For PETA

Eva Mendes is the new face, I mean ass, for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign. I am not a PETA member but I applaud their efforts in educating people about the unnecessary cruelties that animals suffer in the hands of men. I don't wear fur, don't eat veal and have donated to animal protection groups in the past, though that does not make me perfect. I still eat meat & chicken - though only the cage-free type - and have in my wardrobe a few leather pieces that I still wear, nothing kinky though, just Italian leather. If I can pass on a good message through this vehicle - my humble Little-Pumpkins - I feel already feel somewhat accomplished.
Gorgeous Eva tells here how she got involved with The People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals:

"I wasn't familiar with PETA early in my career. I remember having my first premiere in New York City and being so naive that I didn't have a coat with me. My stylist sent me a fur wrap for the evening and I ignorantly wore it.
PETA then wrote me a beautiful letter commenting on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to never wear real fur on the red carpet or in my life again
."

But let's not forget about my current favorite Goddess on her PETA moment not too long ago!

Mario Testino @ Vogue Hommes International

I don't like fur. I am actually against wearing it, me or anyone else. I don't believe in fashion rules but fur to me is an outdated status symbol, that not only is ostentatious and vulgar but destroys the lives of innocents creatures in vanity's name. Sorry, I won't go all PETA on you guys but it really bothers me. We could go on and on about leather or wool but I do believe they fall in a different category altogether. Men in fur are specially heinous. Nothing says "queen" like a guy in a fur coat, unless you are from Siberia or is standing in Moscow's Red Square. Even fur trim on men's clothing gives me the willies. I have sinned in the past for selling fur (trim) items but I vowed way back never to touch the stuff again. I once worked at this place in Boston that sold these Prada scarves that were made out of dyed hamster fur! Eew! And we were not supposed to say that to customers as most cutesy Asian girls would not have gone for that.
Then we come to the Fall/Winter 2007-2008 edition of Vogue Hommes International with a "men in fur" editorial by photography's great Mario Testino, titled "Fur Men". I will disregard the tacky fur coats and focus on the lower mounds of fur instead, that are far more appealing to me...

Dita Von Teese @ PETA New Ad Campaign

Porcelain skin Goddess Dita Von Teese is the definition of sexy and my favorite pin-up come to life. Now Dita is combining her sex appeal with her compassion for animals to launch PETA's new ABC campaign. But what does ABC stand for? Animal birth control, of course! PETA's new ABC campaign tackles the issue of companion animal overpopulation and urges people to do their part by taking simple steps to help end this crisis. Dita knows her ABCs and just how important animal birth control is as every year, nearly 4 million dogs and cats are put to death in the U.S. because there are not enough good homes for them. Until we all do our part to put an end to this cycle, euthanasia will remain a tragic necessity. In her ad, Dita urges fans to "bone up" on their ABCs and, if they are considering adding a dog or a cat to the family, to adopt from a local animal shelter and be sure to get their new family member spayed or neutered. More kudos for Dita!
