Victoria Beckham's Double Dose

Victoria Beckham went fashion-chameleon this month, first as Vogue UK's April cover celeb and on the current ad campaign of Marc Jacobs. On the ads she is looking more Scary than Posh in my opinion, but I give her kudos for daring to go "un-pretty" for the fashion label. It seems to me that celebs nowadays have become "labels of themselves", always so polished and perfect-looking that is fresh to find people that goes against the grain. As a Brit she is showing that she hasn't lost her eccentric side or sense of humour by donning a really silly little bow atop an equally silly wig. My only advice would be to lay off the spray tan and bronzer powder, if she wants to look human at least .

FIERCE! Christian Wins Project Runway

I was at the edge of my seat (literally!) last night watching the season finale of Project Runway. I had tears in my eyes (cry baby!) as Heidi Klum announced Christian Siriano as the winner of Season 4. I was so rooting for Christian to win and I really got touched by his sincere tears right before the announcement. His collection was fierce - to paraphrase his overused jargon - as he put out incredible show pieces, my favorite being his last number, a dramatic feathered couture gown that sashayed down the runway in perfect flow. I would say that it would have been a perfect fit in any European catwalk and his talent and vision in undeniable, specially when you consider that is only 21 years old! His model choices - mostly gorgeous black and dark skinned girls - were perfect for his exotic looks and the girls could walk, not to be said for some other designer's picks. The cherry on top was guest judge Victoria Beckham that came across very well spoken with constructive input and was clearly enamored with Christian's design view. Victoria looked beautiful in an orange jersey dress and even cracked a smile - something that as she puts it "is not easily done" - when watching his runway presentation.
Christian you rocked! Congratulations!!!!

Victoria Beckham For Marc Jacobs

Victoria Beckham shedding it all for a skin care campaign funded by Marc Jacobs. Check out this new T-shirt that you can purchase showing Posh Spice in her birthday suit. Proceeds will go towards The Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group.

Since we moved to California I have realized how important it is to practice safe sun for myself and to keep my three boys’ skin well protected as well. “Skin cancer is a huge problem and I really wanted to help raise awareness by taking part in Marc’s initiative.”

Victoria Beckham @ Elle

Victoria Beckham is the cover girl of Elle magazine, January 2008 issue.
Once again suspenders (!) on the glossy covers of the fashion mags, but this time her boobs are covered up.
What's up with that?? I mean suspenders, not boobs.

Celebrity Billboards in Tokyo

Many celebrities will shy away from advertisement contracts in the US to avoid being associated with a particular product or wear-out their images. Usually that's something one will do end they are at career's end and they take what they can get. This has changed a little in recent years when desirable luxury-goods companies like Louis Vuitton or Versace are key brands when adding glamour and sophistication to a star's public image. Welsh-born Catherine Zeta-Jones was somewhat of a trend-setter when agreeing to be T-Mobile front woman in the US. Traditionally such stars will seldom be seen pushing cars or liquor ads in America, but when the images will be sold to foreign markets the cash will talk louder. Sites like Gaijin-a-Go-Go offer a great menu of Western stars in Japanese commercials, that are actually quite fun to watch. Here's a small array of celebs working hard in Japan.

Dita Von Teese in Paris

Burlesque Goddess Dita Von Teese was a vision of perfection at the Spring/Summer 2008 shows in Paris last week. She attended all the major runway presentations including Chanel, Dior, Loewe and Elie Saab, to name a few. She also attended the Fetish exhibit party, co-hosted by photographer David Lynch and shoe designer Christian Louboutin. At Chanel she posed next to a grumpy-looking Victoria Beckham, that didn't seem too thrilled to share the spotlight with the raven-haired beauty.
Every time I see Dita's looks she is flawless from top to bottom: the hair, the make-up, the outfit, the nails, the bag, the shoes, the TOE NAILS!! She does not miss a single detail and it shows. Her clothing choices are always perfect and true to her 40's-50's pin-up look, that she never seems to compromise or misstep. A true fashion icon!
