Iguatemi Filme Fashion - Sao Paulo

The third edition of Iguatemi Filme Fashion started today in Sao Paulo, until August 30Th. The festival explores the relationship between fashion and movies, by featuring films that have been heavily influenced by fashion and style. We have to agree that a good costume designer can make an OK movie an instant classic, right? This year the festival will be divided in three segments. Brazilian Cinema, selecting 15 movies with outstanding wardrobes. There is also the Competitive Showing awarding Brazilian productions in 8 different categories and at last the Panorama Internacional, exhibiting the best of current fashion "in motion". These will definitely be the hottest tickets in the festival with showings of "Lagerfeld Confidential", "You Wear It Well" and a Bruce Weber retrospective with 4 movies, 6 shorts plus music videos & commercials. "You Wear It Well" will be a festival-within-the-festival, first shown in Los Angeles in 2006. The brain-child of fashion journalist Diane Pernet, it will include 18 short DVD movies directed by fashion elite like Jeremy Scott, Nick Knight, Ruben Toledo and Maison Martin Margiela. Little-Pumpkin's fave, Brazilian photographer Marcelo Krasilcic , will be showing two shorts there as well. Fashionistas get in line...NOW!
