I took these shots this past July when I was returning home on a late Sunday afternoon. I noticed these large group of "youngsters" graffiting the walls of two public schools on the intersection of Lagoa & Humaita neighborhoods in Rio. I had to pull over and inquire about it as I'm a big fan of street art. They told me that they were invited by the schools, and supplied with spray paint, to refresh the murals around the building walls. I assumed that the schools rather have beautiful detailed street art adorning their walls than simply tagged by vandals with ugly scribbles. I must say that I often see great street art here in Rio and I applaud the schools decision.
