Dover Street Market, London

In London, Dover Street Market debuts the store's new look accompanying the Fall season's new collections. This Comme des Garcons concept store besides it's signature line also has in-store corners of brands like Undercover, Lanvin by Alber Elbaz, Martin Margiela and John Galliano among others, spread throughout it's 4 floors. Several designers were invited to create their personal visions for their merchandise display and the results are breathtaking and inspirational to say the least. Rei Kawabubo, fashion uttermost visionary and CDG founder/designer has upped the level once more to what a concept store is supposed to be and look like. I often pity the dismal attempts of some Brazilian retailers to be "avant-garde & concept-y" by simply carbon copying Colette in Paris or 10 Corso Como in Milan. Just throw in some CDs, stack some artsy books, spread some action figures around and a few gadgets in a glass case and...voila, concept store!
