George Israel @ Cinemateque Rio

I went to see artist George Israel play last night at Cinemateque in Botafogo, Rio. It was the released party of his second solo CD "Distorções do Meu Jardim". Israel is best know as the saxophonist of Kid Abelha, the very successful Brazilian pop group he helped create in the early 80's. Lead singer Paula Toller has also released her second solo CD recently, "SóNós". Kid Abelha celebrates it's 25TH anniversary in 2008 with the release of their 13th studio album.
Israel's CD includes songs co-written with members of Barão Vermelho, Los Hermanos and even an old partnership with Brazilian pop legend Cazuza. The mood is a mix of soft rock, blues, reggae and Brazilian pop. He will be playing in São Paulo, on 09/15, at Teatro Crowne Plaza.
